Energy and environmental issues were among the hot topics in the second presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain. Obama said repeatedly that energy would be a top priority in his administration. He also listed energy as one of his top three concerns. “We are going to have to deal with energy because we can’t keep on borrowing from the Chinese and sending money to Saudi Arabia. It's official: The renewable energy tax credits are here to stay. President Bush signed the mammoth bill containing about $18 billion in energy tax credits, part of a large tax package and financial market bailout plan Friday afternoon.
