Westinghouse’s Innovative New Product
April 21st, 2011

Westinghouse Solar is continuing their quest to make innovative products and have released a new product that could make big changes for the industry. They have unleashed a new-penetrating flat roof solar power system designed specifically for commercial rooftop projects. Their new 235 watt high efficiency solar panel will go on top of a new lightweight, aluminum, and stainless steel flat roof mounting system. This system accomplishes two monumental things; first, it requires no holes to be put in the roof when installed thereby reducing the possibility of roof leaks and preserving roof warranties; second, the system has an aerodynamic design that can resist high winds, thereby minimizing the ballast weight necessary for the system.

The Westinghouse system can go on nearly any commercial rooftop because of its industry leading lightest total weight of 2.7 pounds per square foot. Also, because there is no need to connect panels, it becomes easier and faster to install, which will reduce rooftop instillation materials and labor costs. This new solar panel system is now available to order in the U.S.
